SNOWY WESTERN MASS

Is it really 2015 already? I am so backed up with posts, sorry for the delay!

Here are some snaps I took around western Massachusetts around Thanksgiving (2014). It snowed all night which made for a perfect morning stroll with my camera before it was time for turkey.

DUCK & WAFFLE

If you follow any London Instagrammers then it is likely that you have seen this place pop up in everyone's feed. I knew I had to make a reservation here for duck confit with waffles and amazing London views.

Breakfast here was delicious, but I was so distracted the whole time by the gorgeous interior and morning light. I spent most of my time there, camera and iPhone in hand, only just remembering to take a bite of food every now and again ;)

NOVEMBER IN LONDON

This November I spent some time with my family and friends in York and London. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have spotted some iPhone snaps from my trip.

Before I moved to New York, I lived in London for over 5 years and I got to know the city very well. Whenever I return to London, it's like a whole new city to me and I love getting to know it all over again. There have always been similarities between London and New York, but the gap seems to be getting smaller and smaller.

A few favorites from this trip have to be walking around my old hood Marylebone, discovering Chiltern street and all it's goodness including the Monocle Cafe, Trunk clothiers, Sunspel and Nordic Bakery. More London favorite include dinner and then fresh morning custard doughnuts at St. John's Bread & Wine, Workshop Coffee, Tap Coffee, Duck & Waffle and Dishoom.

OLD YORK

This November, we visited my family in the UK, where we split our time between London and York.

We enjoyed Sunday lunch in the heart of York in a very crooked little building in the very old crooked streets of the Shambles. It was a short afternoon, but it gave us the chance to walk around, taking pictures within the Shambles for a bit before lunch. British daylight in November is always a challenge. I think I recall about an hour of true daylight and that was it. I could walk around York for hours taking pictures. It is a town filled with so much historic beauty.

A PERFECT ESCAPE PART II - PALE HUES IN HAWAII

To see part I click here: A Perfect Escape Part I - Blue Hawaii

Hawaii may be known for its bright blue skies, but once that heavy mist rolls in, the whole vibe changes. The foggy mist hovering over Oahu's mountains and waters offered a much softer contrast to those brighter parts of the day. Here is a collection of shots from cloudy surf coasts to the pale hued colors of the island's landscape and architecture.

A PERFECT ESCAPE PART I: BLUE HAWAII

[Update] To see part II click here: A Perfect Escape Part II - Pale Hues in Hawaii

This summer, we visited the beautiful Hawaiian island of O’ahu. My expectations were high, but falling in love was easy. Exploring this captivating volcanic and turquoise world, each part of the island so unique and yet equally as beautiful, was a perfect escape. Leaving the winding cerulean coastline and sprawling mountainous ridges behind for the dense cityscape of New York was difficult.

Above are some selected snaps capturing the alluring palette of blues around the island.

My Oahu List

The Royal Hawaiian Hotel
Diamond Head Summit Trail
Koko Crater Trail
Waimanalo Beach
Sandy Beach
Halona Cove and Lookout
Bogarts Cafe
Morning Glass Coffee
Eggs 'n Things
Giovanni's Shrimp Truck
Leonard's Malasadas
Bubbies Ice Cream

NUT BUTTER TOAST

Almond butter on toast drizzled with raw honey, sprinkled with chia seeds and Maldon salt. This is currently my favorite breakfast/snack and I eat it almost everyday. I switch the almond butter for cashew butter a lot too ;)

BLUE EGG SHELLS

These blue Ameraucana egg shells were too pretty to throw out without shooting them. I still think it's amazing that eggs can have such beautiful colors.

WILTED PEONY STUDY

A few stills from a study I did playing about with some beautifully wilted magenta peonies.
